Neil’s equine background
Neil learned to ride aged 5 on a home broken Exmoor pony called Mead. Progressing through Pony Club, competing in all disciplines with various horses; including National Pony club Championships at Weston Park & Hickstead; Neil ended up competing at Modern Pentathlon as part of the Great Britain team.
After Graduating from Leeds University with an honours degree in biology, Neil moved to Bath to train full time as a Modern Pentathlete. During this period he started receiving regular Bowen Technique treatments. With the help of ongoing Bowen treatment he went on to compete at European and World Championships.
There was no doubt that Bowen played an important part in Neil’s sporting career, so he decided to train as a Bowen Technique practitioner as a stepping stone to becoming a qualified Equine Bowen practitioner.
From growing up with horses, competing and training, and from his time as a sportsman; he has learned to be in tune with the working of the horse, its muscles and lines of strain and the effect the rider has it. This complements his theoretical understanding learned through his studies and continued professional development.
